There is more information out there than we can possibly access or pay attention to even if it shows up on our personal beach. Even much of the interesting stuff that washes up on the shores of our awareness gets ignored, simply because we don't have the time to sort through what is valuable and what is not.

World Digital Library is for all those who are interested in the cultural history of humankind. Maps, artifacts, artwork and documents from different cultures around the world make up this extensive database.
